Enso Circles

Enso Circles, or 円相, "circular form" are hand-drawn stokes in Zen buddhism that symbolize enlightenment, strength and the value of imperfect perfection.

Drawn in a single fluid stroke, they are often used as part of meditative pratice.

All aspects matter - whether the circle is closed or open can greatly change the meaning.

For Mooncha, the use of sumi-e and enso circle motifs are intended to contrast with the art noveau style to evoke a brand perception that is refeshing while simultaneously "steeped" in tradition.
